About The 1MC Community

1 Million Cups (1MC) communities across the nation aim to present an inclusive and supportive front door to their local entrepreneurial ecosystem by connecting aspiring entrepreneurs to the resources they need to start or grow their business. 1 Million Cups (1MC) was created by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in 2012 and is a free, national program that first and foremost educates, but also engages and connects local entrepreneurs. The program fosters a culture of support and inclusivity, welcoming entrepreneurs to be open and honest about their businesses and the challenges they face. In the process, a local community of entrepreneurs can share experiences and identify ways to support one another.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a dynamic 3-day accelerator program where innovators, developers, and entrepreneurs come together to turn ideas into reality. Develop, prototype, design, and validate your startup ideas while connecting with a vibrant community of like-minded people.You’ll be immersed in an invaluable network of mentors and coaches and gain access to resources that will help you refine your concepts and pitch effectively to top Tourism and Alaska Community investors.

Weekend Schedule
Here's How It All Unfolds...

Friday: Pitch and Team Up

Participants pitch their ideas, and the most promising concepts are selected through voting. Teams of 3-5 people form around these ideas, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of collaboration and innovation.

Saturday: Build and Validate

Saturday is all about bringing your startup to life. Teams work tirelessly to develop prototypes, validate their ideas, and refine their business models with the help of mentors and coaches.

Sunday: Pitch and Celebrate

Showcase your newly created startups to a panel of judges and investors. This is your chance to pitch your idea, demonstrate your progress, and potentially secure partnerships. The weekend concludes with a celebration of everyone’s hard work and new connections.

Learn how to think, work, and build like a startup in 54 thrilling hours. Techstars Startup Weekend Tourism Anchorage is an exciting and immersive foray into the world of startups. Over an action-packed three days, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors to show you how to get more done faster — and, maybe even start that Business.Terms of Participation Agreement: It is our job to provide you with an incredible networking and learning experience. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might start a company with, learn from mentors and learn from your peers. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community. If you’re very concerned, you can limit your pitch to the rough outline of the idea without giving away key information.As a member of your startup community, you agree to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally, treat everyone with respect, and treat the event facilities with proper care. You agree that you are responsible in the event of any accidents or damages that you cause. You also agree to not hold Techstars Startup Weekend, your local volunteer team, or any of the event supporters liable for any loss, damage, injury, or any other unforeseeable incident.By participating in the event, you grant Techstars permission to capture photos/videos of the event and use them for marketing purposes, so we can continue to offer amazing Techstars Startup Weekends around the world.By purchasing a ticket to a Techstars Startup Weekend event, you agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
